Service Description
Prerequisites: Level 4 Intro to Musical Longform OR equivalent intermediate musical improv experience Mondays, 19:00-21:30, May 11-June 29 Class show: July 6 Music plays a huge role in movies, television and theater, and can add a whole new dimension to comedic improvisation. The best part is you don't need a trained voice! In fact, it's often funnier to have a mix of trained and untrained voices on stage. Taught by Tina Marie Serra and Joseph Pierce of Kaleidoscope, Berlin's premiere musical improv troupe, who regularly play to sold-out houses in both Germany and abroad. This Level 5 class will focus on building improvised long musical narratives. Together, we’ll create a conscious, supportive space where we’ll focus on strong listening, making bold choices, and working together as a team. We’ll empower each other with the “Freedom to Fail,” thereby unleashing our inner creativity. Over 8 classes we'll be exploring the role of music in improv through long-form oriented scene work. We’ll also have a ton of fun and make new friends! In the end-of-class show, you’ll get to show off all you’ve learned to an invited audience of family and friends. Please note the extra cost is for having a dedicated musical director. We can't wait to laugh and learn with you!
