Service Description
Prerequisites: Level 3 Patterns & Repetition Sundays, 16:00-18:30, May 10-June 28 Class Show: July 5 In long-form improv, the “referee" in short-form improv games disappears, and all editing decisions are made by the players themselves, in real-time. Further, all "rules" are thrown away, and performers are left to find the “game of the scene” themselves, all while advancing convincing, comedic stories. Together, we’ll create a conscious and supportive space where we’ll focus on the "Cat's Cradle” format of long-form improv. The Cat's Cradle is a long format that uses theme to blend narrative, character and game into one seamless set. It relies on organic edits and dynamic stage placement. Most importantly, it's a lot of fun! Over 8 classes, we’ll combine everything you’ve learned in previous classes exclusively through long scene work. In the end-of-class show, you’ll get to show off all you’ve learned to an invited audience of family and friends. Graduates of this class will have access to ongoing free practices and may be selected to perform as part of a monthly show. We can't wait to laugh and learn with you!
