Improv Level 4: The Cat's Cradle
Available spots
Service Description
Prerequisites: Level 3 Patterns & Repetition, or other equivalent intermediate improv experience Mondays, 19:00-21:30, May 12-June 30 Class Show: July 7 In long-form improv, the “referee" in short-form improv games disappears, and all editing decisions are made by the players themselves, in real-time. Further, all "rules" are thrown away, and performers are left to find the “game of the scene” themselves, all while advancing convincing, comedic stories. Together, we’ll create a conscious and supportive space where we’ll focus on the "Cat's Cradle” format of long-form improv. The Cat's Cradle is a long format that uses theme to blend narrative, character and game into one seamless set. It relies on organic edits and dynamic stage placement. Most importantly, it's a lot of fun! Over 8 classes, we’ll combine everything you’ve learned in previous classes exclusively through long scene work. In the end-of-class show, you’ll get to show off all you’ve learned to an invited audience of family and friends. We can't wait to laugh and learn with you!
