Service Description
In long-form improv, the “referee" in short-form improv games disappears, and all editing decisions are made by the players themselves, in real-time. Further, all "rules" are thrown away, and performers are left to find the “game of the scene” themselves, all while advancing convincing, comedic stories. In this class you’ll learn how to use Openings for idea generation, Miles Stroth's Position Play to quickly identify what kind of scene you're in, and how to weave themes and patterns through different scenes. Together, we’ll create a conscious and supportive space where we’ll focus on the "montage” format of long-form improv. Over 8 classes, we’ll combine everything you’ve learned in previous classes exclusively through long scene work. In the end-of-class show, you’ll get to show off all you’ve learned to an invited audience of family and friends. We can't wait to laugh and learn with you!
