Service Description

When performing improv, we're acting, writing and directing, collaboratively, all at the same time. This Level3 class will provide a deep dive into the "directing" part of improvising. How do we communicate and create the location within our scenes? What can we learn from replaying a story? What is the fourth wall and when do we want to break it? Over 8 weekly classes we'll focus on doing good object and location work, splitting up the physical and verbal parts of the story, and learn collective creation and stage picture techniques. Together, we’ll create a conscious, supportive space where we’ll focus on strong listening, making bold choices, and working together as a team. We’ll empower each other with the “Freedom to Fail,” thereby unleashing our inner creativity. Over 8 classes we'll be exploring the nature of directing through short-form oriented scene-games and long-form oriented scenes. In the end-of-class show, you’ll get to show off all you’ve learned to an invited audience of family and friends. We can't wait to laugh and learn with you!
