Service Description

Prerequisites: None! Sundays, 13:00-15:30, January 4-February 22 Class Show: Sunday March 1 Maybe you're curious about performing comedy but don’t know where to start. Maybe you’d love to be more outgoing, and more present and spontaneous in your relationships. Or maybe you’re an experienced performer who’s new to improvisation. Either way, come join us for this Introductory class and begin making all the world your stage! Together, we’ll create a conscious, supportive space where we’ll focus on becoming good listeners, making spontaneous choices, and working together as a team. We’ll empower each other with the “Freedom to Fail,” thereby unleashing our inner creativity. Over 8 classes, we’ll explore the principles of comedic improvisation primarily through the use of short-form game work. The concepts of presence, agreement, trust, commitment and support are fostered through large and small group exercises. By the end of the class, you’ll have learned numerous fun stage games and be prepared to begin scene work. We’ll also have a ton of fun and make new friends! In the end-of-class show, you’ll get to show off all you’ve learned to an invited audience of family and friends. This course is the prerequisite for Level 2 courses. We can’t wait to laugh and learn with you!
