Service Description

Prerequisites: Level 3 Patterns & Repetition Sundays, 16:00-18:30, January 4-February 22 Class Show: Sunday March 1 In long-form improv, the “referee" in short-form improv games disappears, and all editing decisions are made by the players themselves, in real-time. Further, all "rules" are thrown away, and performers are left to find the “game of the scene” themselves, all while advancing convincing, comedic stories. Together, we’ll create a conscious and supportive space where we’ll focus on "The Duchess” format of long-form improv. The Dutchess blends character, narrative, and game into one seamless improv set. Based on years of teaching experience, this format provides the right balance of structure and flexibility to enable student success. Most importantly, it's a lot of fun! Over 8 classes, we’ll combine everything you’ve learned in previous classes exclusively through long scene work. In the end-of-class show, you’ll get to show off all you’ve learned to an invited audience of family and friends. We can't wait to laugh and learn with you!
